Riley Warhurst
Experience: Once again, we’ve broken our policy of not hiring members of the same family because the value Riley brings to our team was too good to pass. Riley achieved his Cert II and Cert III in ICT whilst working with another IT company for 2 years as a help desk technician diagnosing IT issues and remotely repairing computer problems. He decided to move his services to The Computer Workshop where he has a team of technicians to share his knowledge and upskill in other areas of technology. Riley has a passion for building computers dating back to when he was at primary school. His dad can’t remember a time when he wasn’t pulling apart someone’s PC and rebuilding it to make it run more efficiently. He also enjoys helping people improve their operating systems and Microsoft Office 365. Add this to his experience in C# scripting, , coding, 3D modelling and augmented reality for online gaming and we have another great technician on our team.
Biography:
Riley is a budding petrol-head and loves to drive his silver 2014 Holden Commodore SV6 Storm which just has to be a manual. He’s a hard core gamer and even does twitch streaming where people subscribe to watch him play. When not gaming or driving his car, Riley enjoys a good workout at the gym.
Zane Webb
Experience: When the boss saw the subject heading “Passionate Nerd Looking for Work”, he simply had to meet him and he didn’t disappoint. Zane’s confident demeaner and can-do attitude had him starting work the following Monday. Since he started working at The Computer Workshop in February 2023 Zane has proved to be an asset in Tech Bay. His patience for tasks both small and large is allowing to learn quickly and complete tasks with both great care and attention to detail.
Biography:
Zane moved from Sydney with his family to Townsville 2012 and then to acreage in Bluewater in 2013. At their farm he has the responsibility of looking after goats, horses, chickens and turkeys. He was such a good student at Townsville Grammar that he received a bursary and graduated in 2022. He is also passionate about martial arts, especially Brazilian Jujitsu. He especially enjoys sports shooting at targets because he likes to be precise, another great attribute we appreciate at The Computer Workshop.
Cherie Sengstock
Experience: Cherie emailed on a Friday evening, interviewed on Saturday and made such a good impression she started work the following Monday. Her initiative, great sense of humour and willingness to do whatever is required has made her an integral part of our team. She brings with her a wealth of experience from working in the railway for close to 23 years. Starting as a train controller, she moved on to network planning and scheduling and then project work to develop IT solutions for the operational network teams. Her vast experience in new process development and improvement is contributing to the wealth of knowledge at The Computer Workshop Group.
Biography:
After being made redundant from the railways in 2019, Cherie thought she’d use that time to travel around Australia starting with Tasmania. She’s spent the last 3 years travelling in her little caravan to have a well-earned break while doing random casual jobs along the way. We’re really happy she’s finally decided to settle in Townsville and join our team.
Josh Smith-Monaghan
Experience: Completing a Bachelor of Education Services in 2022, Josh is working primarily in the Education System. Through his passion of technology, and the pure interest of learning how things work, Josh is now working casually at The Computer Workshop Group, Thursday through Saturday.
Biography:
Born and raised in Brisbane, Josh made the move to beautiful Townsville in 2009 with his family. He has a varied range of interests including History, Martial Arts, Historical Sword Fighting, Gaming, Reading, and he is even writing a book! Josh will build his knowledge base within our very busy TechBay department, and he is presented with the opportunity to learn from our incredible Technicians along the way.
Carol Giraldo
Experience: Carol is eager to put marketing strategies into action for her position at “The Computer Workshop Group” which commenced in September 2023. During her travels shes studied marketing, digital marketing and earnt a bachelors degree in advertisting. She brings with her a passion for marketing, digital marketing, content creation, graphic designs and data analysis while also enjoying upskilling in website design.
Biography:
Born and raised in Colombia, Carol has been living abroad for 8 years now as she moved to the south of New Zealand until finally making her way to tropical Townsville. Having previously overseeing clients from working in worldwide advertising and media agencies, she brings a wealth of experience with her. Carol also enjoys traveling, getting back to nature and spending time with her family and her dog.
Brady Escriva
Experience: Brady has come from a previous position with a Cert II in ICT and has currently been "adopted" by the cabling team. This doesn't stop him from being a dynamic worker though as he floats around and provides additional support to areas of the business that need an extra pair of hands.
